I did upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista earlier this year, when it first came out.

You would be smart to remain using Windows XP. Upgrading to Windows Vista is a lot of work. I'm sure you have more important things to do than this time-consuming chore. And there are still compatibility issues between Windows Vista and many other programs and applications.

I recommend that you stick with Windows XP.

Before the upgrade you may want to find out if your PC can handle Vista first. Its up to you but I would wait a bit longer.
Right now XP will be running for a long time just as some people out there are still using 98 and 2000. Some of the things that you have for your PC may not be compatible with Vista, be it programs or hard wear. That of course will be fixed in time.

No. Windows Vista is turning out to be worse than Windows ME. Stick with XP until Microsoft takes Vista off the market after they realize how bad it is.

It's still new, and I hear lots about people who have issues with it not functioning properly. It's also very fancified; if your system isn't powerful enough, it will lag and function in an undesired manner.

I say wait a while until some of the bugs in Vista is fixed, then try upgrading.

Better wait a while. Microsoft software initial versions are always very buggy. Wait till they have the kinks taken out. You should also make sure you have the right hardware and have enough memory.
Another thing is, a lot of device drivers are not ready for Vista yet.

Unless your PC is getting old and you need to buy a new one, stick with XP for now. Vista should be pre-installed only.

I am still using Windows XP,

and find it still very useful. I

would wait until perhaps

the price of Vista went

down, or it becomes really

popular, and gets more

positive feedback.

please listen to all of this offered advise.each computer maker has their own programs built into the system and ALOT of them don't mesh with vista and have to be deleted.some of them you probably wouldn't want to do without.i think microsoft has as place on their website you can let their computer scan yours to tell you if yours is compatable plus it shows you what systems have to be deleted from your programs for vista to work.if it's not broke - don't try to fix it.
