Sounds like you have become like the people you ran into years ago.

its people that turn into rambo as soon as they get near a computer, real tough from the comfort of the leather chair , in front of a 30 inch lcd monitor. its 30 second sound bytes, that do the thinking for you, or tell you how to think. its people that howl America rules lets go to war. saying leave the country is the most asinine answer i have heard yet. its your country too. many statements these people make are very fascist in nature, some just parrot the most recent line off fox news. many of these people even fall into the trap of thinking both of the parties are actually different, even though they serve the same masters. likely they have no idea of the censorship their news goes through, to make sure what is said, is palatable to the public. often they buy into the fear, and as a reaction mass consume. and in typical fashion they don't see they are the end result of carefully calculated conditioning, that started at a very young age. pity.

There are a lot of people, not just americans who display the ignorance of prejudice. Fear is the ultimate reason for being angry with others who are different from us. Some Americans feel that a lot of our economical problems are coming from immigrants who are using our tax money to live in the U.S. and take our jobs. I think that some of us have forgotten that our forefathers were the beginning of a melting pot that the Native Americans probably resented too. Don't let anyone tell you what your worth is based on where you came from or what neighborhood you grew up in, whether you are foreign or a citizen. Diversity is what thinking people consider great about our country. Unless you personally have a bomb strapped to your back, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Just remember not to judge all Americans based on the misguided few.

You're going to find ignorant people everywhere. Last time I went to Europe,I was afraid to open my mouth, because every time somebody heard my accent I got heckled, but Im not going to lower myself at their level by thinking that ALL Europeans are self-righteous, hypocritical b@stards, whom are guilty of all the things that Americans are guilty of.
And bigotry in the military, take a number pal, I was in for 5 years and everybody, absolutely everybody, be black, white, hispanic, filipino whatever, everyone gets their piece of racism.
Last time I checked the polls for the war's support was at all time's low at 38%.
Believe me, as a former military member and current military spouse we want out as much they want us out, if not more.
Last but not least, look at the bright side, the most you'll get here for airing your opinions is people being a little sensitive, not being so nice, in other places it could land you in jail with some guy trying to "change your mind" w/ some electrical prongs.

It could be of course that you cannot debate your opposition (whatever the subject) in a rational manner? Raising constructive criticism with intelligent argument is both the hallmark of politics and the same applies in the military as in any profession one chooses to follow!.
Moreover, my experience of the American military (as a foreign national I served in Vietnam - then spent some considerable time in the States during regular exchange visits with your military) I never once encountered the situation you record. Yes, on many occasion, spirited debate arose about many issues like Vietnam! However, I cannot ever recall being told I was **** should pack up, and go home to the UK!

It depends on what part of the country you're in. In more liberal areas, like oregon and washington, people are strongly against the war. But in more conservative areas, like the southern states, people act like that.
They're just being nationalistic and if you look at the approval ratings of the president and this war, most of the country disagrees with the war. We're at the point now that we won't get out of this war until Bush is finally out of office.

Not all americans are like that...some of us agree with you that the war in iraq is illegal and wrong. If you live in america move to a more liberal place you are less likely to be treated so unfairly. If you don't try to avoid the americans who treat you like that.

Being unsupportive of our troops, and bad mouthing our system leads to the only logical conclusion that you hate it in America. Knowing that, I ask you why you stay here? Why not go to some other place where your ideals and beliefs are more prevalent?

Because they are ignorant, uprooted, arrogant, insecured, lazy, imbeciles. Just look who they worship, Paris Hilton, American Idol, The Simpsons.
Does that answers your question?
I did serve in the military also, but let me tell you something that I have always said, The Military has nothing to do with war, Politics have to do with war. War is a business, we are just the labor.

Not all Americans are like that. Just keep in mind that millions of Americans voted to reelect Bush so there are a lot of dumb asses out there.

Just what makes you think your special ? I've been there and done that long before and after you, and I had the moronic left spit at me as well, but that's the moronic left, it sure didn't make me want to join up with them. Maybe it's the way you protest, I don't know or care, but get over your self, get a life and carry on.......................
