I believe the same rules apply in an RV as per any moving vehicle driven on the road. The 2yr old defiantly must be in a car seat and the 4yr old (depends on weight and height) car seat / car boaster seat or seat belt. check on weight requirements for your state (most states have the same laws regarding child safety seats).

as long as the venicle is in motion on the road ways the same laws apply with seat belts. the rvs generally hae lap belts in the seats if notthe place the children in the safest place in the rv which is close to the back or in the passenger side seat as this does have a seat belt.

One, you cannot put a carseat in a RV b/c the carseat manufacturer doesn't allow them to be put in "sideways". Secondly, where the seatbelts are on those seats, they are not into the frame of the RV...they are usually in a piece of wood which is not safe at all. The safest place for a child to travel, if there is just one in a carseat in a RV, is in the front seat. Sounds weird, but those seatbelts are in the frame of the RV. I, personally, would have someone follow the RV with the kids in their carseats in the vehicle.

I believe at least in Ohio that children should be strapped securely in a carseat at all times while the vehicle is in motion...
