In the garden of eden

but the organized version of it you can find in the Bible in the book of acts. The diciples (mainly paul I believe) traveled all over and started several churches whose purpose was to take care of the community and teach people about Jesus and salvation. It did not begin like the judgemental hypocritical mess that it is today. The diciples did this because before Jesus died he gave them the great commission which was "go ye into all the world and teach the gospel..." (that isn't verbatum but it's the jist of it)

Christianity began with the life and ministry of Jesus. Jesus was Jewish by birth and lived in Israel during the Roman empire. The term Christian came into use during the first generation of the church in Antioch through the ministry of the Apostle Paul. Christ is from the Greek-christos, meaning "annointed" or "Messiah". Christian means Christ ones, because the disciples worshipped Christ.

A good question, but there's no clear answer. It all depends on your point of view. After Christ died, most of his followers still thought of themselves as Jews. I guess you could say it became Christianity when it became more universal, when St. Paul started converting other non-Jewish people to the religion. Before that, it was pretty much just a Jewish sect. As for where, St. Paul converted people all over the Roman world, so it's not one particular place.

Well, Christianity started during the life of Jesus. Obviously, since Christianity is "believers in Christ." As he came to be known as the son of God, he gathered more and more followers. And from that following Christianity became a wide spread belief.

Byzantine Empire. Without Constantine using it as a propaganda machine to defeat the overly powerful pagan priesthood, you wouldn't even have heard of jesus.
