PetFinder.org!

Don't buy a cat, please! Thousands of animals are destroyed every year because people 'got tired' of them, or they were abandoned, or because pet stores didn't sell them before the next litter arrived to be sold. Shelters have loads of gorgeous, obedient, sweet-natured animals (most of which are already house-broken which is a big plus for most people) that come fixed and with all their shots for a small adoption fee. Plus, if you adopt from a shelter they have a sort of open-return policy: If for some reason it doesn't work out they will always take the animal back to prevent it from ending up on the street.

I've had 2 pedigreed animals and 4 adopted and the adopted ones ended up being much smarter, healthier, and sweeter (mostly because when you adopt an adult you know what their personality is already, so you can find a better match). But if you want kittens, they've got loads of those too.

Hope that you'll consider adopting. Save a kitten! :)

The Humane Society or animal shelter in your area may have websites, some even list pictures and descriptions of available cats. You will still need to go visit in person and fill out forms to be sure you qualify to adopt. It is a big commitment to adopt a pet, and can cost a lot of money. An animal shelter will usually ensure only neutered pets get adopted, and that they are in good health and have their vaccinations.

You don't need a website, check your local paper, vet's office or pet store. They usually have listings.
