This will be about the fiftieth time I've answered this one. But here we go again. Boy how I'd like to see you guys do a little background work before making fools of yourselves.
No scientist ever claimed that humans evolved from apes. Humans and apes probably had a common ancestor a couple of million years ago. The apes took one route of evolution to bring them to what they are today. Humans were another branch of that common ancestor, and developed independently of the apes.
The common ancestor resembled neither humans of apes of today. Both are still evolving, but the present day apes will never become humans,
Now please, all you guys, think of something new and original to ask. This one is conpletely worn out.

That's right, more or less. The apes of today are evolved from earlier species. Evolution doesn't always end up with humans, but whatever traits work best to insure survival and procreation. There are still single celled creatures in the world, yet all other animals at one time evolved from single-celled creatures. The apes of today are as 'modern' as we are, they just evolved differently.

No, humans and apes came from common ancestors. Yes, only some of them evolved into humans. The others evolved into apes.

They probably had more in common with apes than humans.

Sorry lad but this question is just as lame this time as the last 50 times I have seen it.

Please get your head out of that fairy tale and read some science. If you want, and it is obvious that you do, to argue evolution don't you think you should have at least a superficial understanding of the subject?

Man and ape share a common ancestor, or at least that is the theory.

Alzheimer's is a condition whereby one has lost short term memory. This is the second time this question has appeared today. Earliest age of one having Alzheimer's I am aware of was about 40. Have you broken that record? Sorry, you may need to ask someone else your age and/or when you were born.

That question is like asking, "If many Americans are descended from Europeans, why are there still Europeans around?"

We share a common ancestor with modern apes...

Some apes left the jungles and over hundreds of thousands of years became humans, and others stayed in the jungles and became modern modern apes.

Feel free to email me if you have other doubts or questions.

This has already been answered hundreds of times ...

The Big Bus of Evolution drove through the jungle one day and only a few apes got on board. The rest of them are still waiting for the next bus.

There. Does that make sense ?

Not from apes, from a common ancestor, Not from apes, from a common ancestor, Not from apes, from a common ancestor, Not from apes, from a common ancestor, ad nauseum.

How many time has this fallacy been corrected today?

Because there's no such thing as transitional evolution. We all came from mars. Of course come to think of it, my ex boyfriend was an ape.....

You know, until I discovered Yahoo Answers, I used to ask myself why I was so stupid. Chaps, the first answers...a common ancestor...are the factual ones. Those who "wonder about that myself" kind of answer do not border on but dive headlong into...how do I say this...a cognitive shortfall? Yes, that works for me.
