Where did the "Mormons and their 'magic underwear' " rumor start, and why do people believe it??? It's just a bunch of bogus. I mean, the people that go to the Temple wear garments to remind them of the covenats they have made with the Lord, but they aren't "magical." I mean, you act like you are looking for any stupid reason, no matter how impossible it is, to hate us.
You say that God didn't talk to Joseph Smith, or he doesn't reveal things to our Prophets today, or that the Book of Mormon isn't true, yet you believe that we have magical underwear.......as well as the other things you say about us.....please tell me how that makes logical sense, because I am very logical and it sure doesn't make sense to me.....

hahaha!! That’s really funny! The next Christian who asks you that you should ask them if the robes the priests ware are "magical", almost every religion has special garments, just because not everyone wares them doesn’t mean there believes are not as strange! I think that all this is way to funny, I used to be LDS and I still get questions about this stuff. Now that I am a friendly Atheist, when I here crazy stuff like this I always point out the Mormons are as fateful (If not more) then most Christians I know...... Why is it that people feel they can knock a Mormon for what they believe when they are Christian... People are so Arrogant!

The magic underwear protects the wearer from harm.
For only 10% of your net worth and a trip to the temple (In Marriage) you can have yours too!
The Mormons believe we all lived in Heaven with Heavenly Father, several Heavenly Mothers, and 20 Billion Heavenly Siblings. Then there was a war. The good guys won and were born White. The bad guys lost and became demons. Those who were neutral or did not fight bravely were born with non-white skin. The bravest of the brave were born to Mormon families.
We all know that Romney must have been a "Valliant Warrior" in the "War in Heaven" during the "Pre-Existence". How else could he have been born "White and Delightsome" to an LDS family here on Earth? Heck, he was probably one of the Commanding Generals . Now , America needs a President with valuable military experience like that to get us through our war in Iraq. Could you please ask "The One and Only True Prophet", Gordon Hinkley, to please release those valuable records to the public? We need to know what battles he fought in. How many medals he won. How many of the "Less Valliant Soldiers" he recommended being born with black skin when they got their chance to be born on Earth. Was Al Sharpton one of THEM ? How about Jesse Jackson? Mormons, this is your chance to show the world the light of the everlasting gospel. Dont miss out. We have General Romney running for president of the USA and we need you badly right now!

People tend to want physical evidence for everything, but this cannot be possible with religion. Sometimes we are only left with our faith to know whether something is true. It may be enough for some, but it is not for others. When they mention the "magic underwear" they are not saying they believe in it, they are only poking fun at the church's symbolism. It is their own fault that they have chosen to stoop that low when they have no understanding of any aspect of the gospel or they have allowed their testimony to shrink until it has dissappeared. We just have to be patient until God chooses to reveal the truth.

Magical underwear is a joke, it is intended to make fun of the garments, and most LDSers belive their garments protect them, which to others may seem like magical underwear, just a joke.
I read many places that Joseph Smith used his hat, but that he used it to basically concentrate.

It started with Mormons. Thelma Geer talked about her grandmother and what she believed. That belief is not uncommon from the people I have spoken to. Others do not hold to the belief of magical clothing to that extent.
If there was a reason to have a dislike for the church, it would be on the basis of something more substantive. Doctrine, false prophecy and false teachings are a much more substantive reason to dislike the teachings of the church. One thing for you to find out about is why the symbols are on your underwear, where they come from and what they mean to the Freemasons.

Were attempting to make a point or merely rant "I know the church is true..' in your own particular idiom?
By contrast, I know the church beyond a shadow of a doubt is the most ludicrous pile of manure ever dropped in the pasture.
I know that Joseph Smith never spoke to God, Jesus, Nephi, Moroni, Mr Toad or the White Salamander. I know he got most of his information form many other sources (mainly his hat), none of his 'revelations' were original. The gold plates never existed, and the translation was simply a manifestation of his storytelling as related by his mother, Lucy. There were no Nephites, Jaredites, nor Book of Abraham.
You'll know a lot more too when you grow up and use the organ between your ears (not elsewhere, like unto Joseph). Magic underwear is the least of the mormons' problems.

Agree, funny that.
The book of mormon was written in the 19th century by a fraudster who wrote it in the language of the17th century.
You don't find mormons over here in the UK but you can sure bet that the gullible Americans will fall for this sort of stuff every time.

Hate to tell you but I heard it from the horses mouth, just went to UTAH and my dad had a bishop who was watching a bullfight a bull got away and was chasing the bishop and he commented that the bishop got hit by the horns and the magical underwear saved him from h further harm, well, I being a christian and knowing about the full armor of God in ephecians 6:10-18, knew that if their magical underwear was really magical, the horns would have done no damage at all.

I've heard wierd things about the church, and I'm a member, but nothing like that. Did you know that people think that when our primary kids are singing Popcorn poping, us, the adults are brian washing, people just don't know how much struggle a single member goes through, to find out that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is really the true church, of course we can wonder how people think about what is going on, but if our members don''t understand what is going on, then how are we to expect non-members to understand.
