I mean come on, just saying that lowers your IQ.

I believe in God, but seriously, the world IS millions/billions of years old, fossils are real, and atheists are free to not believe in God.

AHHH you caught me! I just got back from planting fossils all day! I'm such a bastard.
And I was going to spend all day tomorrow messing around with the genomes of every creature on the planet just to make it look as if everyone and everything has a common ancestor, but forget it now!
I'll just go back to burning the timbers I found from Noah's Ark and the true cross.
Foiled again!

Some "Christian" fundamentalists used to believe - and probably still do somewhere in the depths of darkest Kansas - that dinosaur fossils were a conspiracy by atheist scientists (or sometimes of Satan himself) to deceive the weak in faith. Nowadays it's more common to admit that dinosaurs existed, but to argue that they must've lived only a few thousand years ago, since the earth itself is nigh 6,000. The new Creation Museum shows dinosaurs fitted with saddles and explains how Noah took dinosaurs on board the Ark. So, you know, what are ya gonna do.

But why should the fundie opinion re: dinosaur fossils be any less insane than any other opinion they cherish. It's an alternate reality they're living in.

Do you honestly believe people can lower their IQ by saying such things? If that is the case, did you lower yours by writing this?

I know of NO Christian who believes that fossils are planted by atheists, yet the fact remains that there is oodles of evidence that the dating methods used upon them are questionable.

I don't believe that atheists planted fossils to trick us. However, it's possible that they were not honest with the data that they have collected.

More can be said.

This Christian doesn't have to believe in fossils...he's seen them, and even created some of his own!

Living specimens of species that were thought to be extinct for millions/billions of years are found every day...makes me wonder.

Before making an assertion, be prepared to prove and source it...

An awful lot of them believe kids had dinosaur pets, not so long ago. It is very hard to take them seriously at all anymore. You are perhaps one of the few rare, insightful Theists.

I agree, no one knows exactly how old the planet is since time for us is different than time to God, it even says this in the Bible.

i've never heard that one. i've heard the one about god putting them there to test people's faith but not atheists planting them.
