I have seriously tried everything. I swim almost 5 days a week, and i do shower before i get in so that my hair soaks up the fresh water first. However, I like to straighten my hair, I haven't lately because of this problem with my dry/greasy hair. Is there any REALLY good shampoo and conditioner that anyone suggests? I've tried baking soda, and that doesn't really work. I have been thinking about getting a better straightner that doesn't fry my hair as much, because i have very thin straight/wavy hair. PLEASE HELP!

thank you for all the answers, but i HAVE tried using swimmers shampoo and it strips all of the nutrients from my hair. ultraswim unfortuantly for me, makes me hair very very dry. I also do wash my hair right after i get out of the water, and i am a diver so i don't use a cap.

You should use eggs or alcohol(the kind you drink). It may sound weird, but it has worked for me.

you have to wash your hair before you go in the pools b/c it reduces the amount of chlorine in your hair. You can also use UltraSwim Chlorine Removal Shampoo to take out the chlorine and you can use that it cost around $5 to $8. you can also use Aubrey Organics Swimmer's Shampoo which cost $7 to $10. You can get these online or at store.
Hope It Helps

You don't mention using a shampoo specifically for chlorine. There are many good ones on the market. We buy the L'Oreal kids swim shampoo for the kids and it works great. I even use it on myself sometimes.

you can try the shampoos designed for getting out chlorine like previously suggested...you can also wet your hair before getting in the pool that way your hair wont soak up as much of the pool water becasue it is already wet

first of all no more chemical services until your hair is in better condition. you will end up with severe damage and breakage try putting leave in conditioner in your hair before you swim

I just went swimming yesterday so I think that you should just wash your hair as soon as you get out of thepool. I think thatll help.
