Because I know many people who buy products for fake tans or go every week to a tanning salon. I don't think it matters that much. People I know ask me if they look to white.

No, I don't care.
I don't tan...I CAN'T tan.
Like if I go out in the sun..the only color my skin will turn is red, even with sun screen. My skin just DOESN'T tan.
That's okay though, because I like my pale skin.
LoL I haven't come by very many people who are paler than I am.
I have to buy the lightest color of foundation...that's how pale I am, LoL

Hey Roswell-dreamer, This is a good question. I don't know how this trend started but it is so dumb and it seems like a waste of time. I also hate the orange-ish fake tans that most products leave you looking like. Besides you can never look to White unless your an albino.

I guess i am even kinda jealous... I'm just so white, you need sunglasses to look at my legs in summer... but there's nothing i can do about it, they just won't tan! I tried tanning in a salon, the fake stuff that makes it just orange... nothing... I've just accepted to stay white for the rest of my life... :-(

I think tanning salons themselves are really stupid. If you wanna get a tan, go to the stupid beach lol.

I live in California, and yes its a big deal. [[or at least around here is it]] A tan is like, almost the same as a designer bag. It just looks good. Otherwise, your one of the people that walk around looking paler than a bedsheet and everyone with tans look at you and say "OMG look at her! Shes so white!"

It's not a big deal hear it Texas. Just get tan enough that you don't get fried out in the sun.

Don't matter to me. Clear skin is beautiful in all varieties it comes in. I hate flaws cause I had a lot of them, and burned them off.

im tan.... but thats becuase i tan easily. But its like if your too dark you want to be lighter, and vise versa.. to me i really dont care
