It comes from a Latin word that means "distinguish, separate"
and according to the Concise Oxford Dictionary it means "separate, individually distinct, discontinuous"
If somebody uses the word in the context mentioned, it should be spelled "discreet" and that means that the person will behave in an unobtrusive manner, or sometimes that they can keep a secret and are not going to blab about what they know from or about other people.

Humm......discrete means independent of other things of the same type, like separate.....as in "The organisms ca be divided into discrete categories".
If a guy describes himself as "discrete", maybe he consider/thinks himself that he is (somehow) different with the other guys.
Probably he thinks that male share thing(s) that common/typical but he doesn't?
As Goddess of grammar said, "discreet" is better in this context. Discreet means careful in what you say or do, in order to keep something secret or to avoid causing embarrassment or difficulty for some substantive.
As in "He aways very discreet about his love affairs".
It's like"tactful".

Basically a 'discrete molecule' is a covalent molecule in which the intermolecular forces are really weak, hence the low melting and boiling points of these molecules. The forces which act between these molecules are called Van Der Waals forces which is a intermolecular (between molecules) force. Since Van Der Waals forces are weak, only a small amount of energy is needed to break apart the molecules - so low m.p and b.p. Make sure you don't get intermolecular forces confused with intramolecular forces, which hold an individual molecule together. They can be easily confused! Van der Waals forces exist between all atoms and molecules.

Discrete means separate or distinguishable. I guess a person who is completely discrete is not a Siamese twin.

Probably he meant "discreet" meaning he's a private person and won't tell your secrets. Is he's using that expression in order to get into your pants, he's married or doesn't care that you are.

The Goddess of Grammar is correct. He meant to say "discreet" which in this case most likely means he won't tell anyone if you don't want him to.
