A call and/or email is a great idea.
I would say that I was trying to get an update on the position and how I'm doing in the process. Also I would mention the new branches by asking when those positions were going to be chosen. "Does my interview count for those jobs too?"
Don't worry about forgetting the thank u. Don't mention it. You are not aware of anything that would keep you from getting this job: )
I always like to talk in the future tense as if I will have the job.
So when I work for you, will ...
While I'm working here, is there....
etc...

I would wait at least one month from the date of the interview for your first call. They won't be opening anything this soon, and you don't want to be a pest. And, when you call, don't ask if they've opened any new branches, just talk in general terms about the position. If there are any positions open, let the hiring manager bring them up.

Well, just like that guy said, send the thank you email as soon as possible. Call the boss, blah blah.
Business people are busy and you are busy. You want something, go get it. Do it till you're satisfied. Of course call, but if you don't get response, go there in person to see what's happening. See a person who works there, maybe make a friend so that s/he could find out something. Anything is possible if you really want it ^^
Good luck! Don't lose hope~~~ (of course, get interviews at other locations till you can't get anymore lol)

Go ahead and send the thank you message. Then call him back in about 2mos, remind him of your interview with him and ask if he has any updated info for you, if he still doesn't know call him again in 2wks and again remind him of your interview. If he still has no info for you then would you really want to work for someone like that? If nothing pans out the 2nd time you call him then hes obviously blowing you off.

What do mean of GOOD, do you feel accepted or not. Try to find another job if not given to you, i believed if it is yours, then nobody will take it away. If you think it's right to be grateful, so be it. Hope you will find the RIGHT JOB!

look for another job...
if he was interested of hiring you, he would have hired you on the spot. "give me a call" before opening other branches, that is another way of saing buzz off...
