just wanna know how hard it is to get a waiver to join the army or army reserve after having knee surgery. just the acl, all other tendons were fine no grinding or catching of bones. and any tips that would help.

You will have to have the surgeon who preformed the sugery say you are okay in writing. You cannot be collecting any kind of disability benefit for the injury or sugery. The recruiter will have to have a military doctor do a medical read of your records and xrays etc and then request a waiver. You can take your asvab and be ready to join when the med read and waiver comes back. The process is longer for you but it can be done. Plan on at least a month of waiting.

When I was in the Army, you had to be able to run 2 miles in less than 20 minutes (non-infantry). And that was for the monthly Physical Training test. Besides that we had to run about 2 miles per day, Monday through Friday (no time limit, just keep up with the rest of the platoon).

Can you do that?

The distance IS the answer. First you have to prove you can meet the physical standards then you'll get the waiver. Or you may not even need one.

you need to talk to a recruiter... theyre the only ones that will be able to tell u
