my friends parents make my friend drink blood. like a full glass every 2 weeks.
it was either that or get it injected.

but her parents and family are keeping a secret from her. emma (my friend) dosent know what it is, she has tryed everything in her power to get her family to tell her.

do you think the blood drinking has something to do with the secret..

-have you ever heard anyone with the same 'having to drink blood' problem?

-what is this disease called.. if it is one?

-is there something about that disease her parents couldent be telling her that has to do with it...like something bad.

thanks times 1000

she either is lying to u. or she needs to tell the police n get herself removed bc if she needed blood bc of a lack of it then a doctor would give her a transfusion not have her drink blood that isnt how it works. no one who needs blood drinks it.

Someone is making up a big story, or else your friend has one messed up family! First of all, if she doesn't know that she's drinking blood, how did she tell you about it? Secondly, where would her parents get blood? It's not like you can go to a blood bank and buy it. If she were drinking blood, it could make her very sick. Blood that hasn't been tested and treated the right way would spoil, and the blood bank tests donors' blood for diseases (HIV, hepatitis, for example) - your friend could get a life-threatening disease from drinking blood that is contaminated. FInally, drinking blood, as other answerers have attested, would not replace her blood. You need to have a transfusion, where they run the new blood into your veins through a needle. That's how it works in the hospital. Perhaps your friend's parents believe she is a vampire!

That is one of the sickest and disgusting things I have ever heard of. Drink blood? What are her parents, aliens of a hideous vampire club? That's not normal! They need to be reported for ABUSE, subjecting their daughter to this type of insanity! And pray tell, where is this so-called blood coming from? And, why are they keeping this from her? Are they ashamed or afraid? I think the latter, or they would had told her. Drinking blood in secret, well, hello!!!! That's exactly what they're doing. You wouldn't want them to spread this blood drinking ritual throughout their neighborhood now, would you? There could be a serious issue at the blood bank. By the way, has there been a raid at your blood bank lately?

And this is called a disease? I think not! The only disease I see now is the one that her parents are hiding and being deceitful in not telling their daughter. Is this the love for the child or the ignorance of the parents? Also, how has this come to your knowledge in this blood drinking if this is such a closed secret, and not from your friend who has it? Who told you? Very odd and strange indeed!

When it comes to having low blood such as being diagnosed for leukemia, then receiving blood being properly given by a qualified medical doctor at a hospital or clinic is where she needs to go, and not for human consumation.

If this is true, then for the sake of your friend, then you need to be the strong person here and go to the authorities and report this bizarre ritual of blood drinking. You have a friend who's in need of help. She is drinking blood from what? Either a person or an animal, as those are the only two things I know that have blood. You don't get it from eating broccoli.

I can't say im conviced by the theory put forward by the diabetes association. it seems to indicate that the liver can't do two things at once, what is it? A Blonde?. the liver realy is a remarkable organ. I remember about 20 years ago a Japanese team drew up plans for a factory to replicate the processes of the liver and it would have been 5 acres in size! There is a known link between hypoglycemia and alcoholism, but it seems that treating the hypoglycemia helps the alcoholism moreso than the than the other way around. Considering that alcohol is merely fermented sugar I wouldn't discount any relationship between the two. William Duffy in "The Sugar Blues" states that many reformed alcoholics turn to drinking copious amounts of soft drinks in place of the alcohol. Getting slightly off track, I saw a doco years ago that claimed that it wasn't the alcohol that got you intoxicated, but the byproduct as your liver breaks it down. That would explain why seasoned drinkers require more to get drunk than others, their liver is not breaking down the alcohol as efficiently. I've never seen the claim repeated anywhere else though. Probably doesnt answer the question, but I havn't posted in a while. Cheers

I have never heard of anyone having to drink blood it would go through your body life any other fluid, This sounds more like an occult ritual If her blood is low she would be having blood transfusions and keeping it a secret only means the parents aren't telling all or the truth about this. I believe I would be contacting the authorities on this one . They could be very well making her sick. Please call someone to help her. OR call a doctor and ask this question you don't have to give your name but please tell them whatever they need to know about her. IT IS NOT NORMAL TO DRINK BLOOD!!!!

I think someone is pulling your leg or you expect us to believe this BS. in the first place you don't drink blood to replace blood, in the second place drinking blood is doing one thing to you, getting you ill on whatever the thing the blood came from had, anything from aids to some infection. In the third place you have eight units of blood, no less no more, this won't replace it so, who are you kidding?

If this is really happening have your friend go to the nearest police station and ask for help, her parents are committing a crime. They're forcing her into abuse.

Does anyone else in her family do the same thing? She should bring it up at her next doctor's appointment. If she 'needed' the blood they would give it to her through an IV like and it's not as gross. Where are her parents getting the blood? It's not healthy and can get her sick. SHe needs to tell someone who can get her help.

Personally it sounds like something that would happen in a cult not a healthy family relationship.

okay first off there is NO POSSIBLE way for blood to be digested thru drinking it! Your friends parents are harming her not helping her and if she does have a condition blood would have to be transfused not drinken! This is seriously an issue and your friends parents are harming your best friend and if this is seriously true you need to tell your parents and then they need to call CPS (child protective services) IMMEDIANTLY!!!!!! Oh and by the way where are they even getting this blood.................also if you have never seen your friend actually drink blood she is probably a liar who CRAVES attention! The facts don't match..(you can't buy blood, drinking blood wouldn't give you more-you can't even digest it)

I can tell you one thing for sure. There exists no disease or medical condition that requires the drinking of blood.

Either her parents are really stupid, your friend is lying to you, or her parents do know what they are doing and may be involved in a cult that does this unhealthy practice and is trying to make it sound legit. I would be concerned about your friend, also, until the truth is revealed.

There is no medical reason to drink blood, in fact it is not even digestible. Drinking blood will end in a tacky thick stool and serve no purpose at all. If you are not making this up it should be reported to the authorities, blood is not for sale and the process they use to obtain it is most likely illegal. There is no wander people feel you are writting a fantasy. This is truely impossible to believe.

not to be rude or anyting........
there is something creepy about that family...
maybe the secret is that they are vampires!!!!

if it is really happening, then u need to tell this to an authority figure....its just wrong.....both morally and medically

if she doesnt have enough blood, then the blood needs to be transfused. that means that it needs to be injected into her blood vessels so that it could become a part of her circulatory system.

if she is drinking blood....its not doing her any good...coz stomach contains high concentration hydrochloric acid inside it. when blood reaches the stomach, it gets broken down as other food items and then gets excreted.....

anyhow....hope u made the question up....
coz if its true....its very creepy...!!!
