$10-$15??? Wow.
I generally got $25-$50 for my high school graduation back in 2002, and got from $25-$100 for my college graduation (party was yesterday, lol). $25-$40 was the general amount I got from friends of my parents.

This all depends on how formal the celebration is. If there is a graduation party planned, then most likely it will take place in a hotel being serviced by several of their staff, with champagne, wines, a four course meal and hor'deurvs. In this case the gift should at least be $100.00 if you know the girl or not. If the celebration is a small family affair in a family restaurant, with home cooked meals, or in the family's backyard, then your gift should be no more than $50.00. You don't want to cheapen the couple's happiness at their child's graduation.

I generally give about 1/2 of what I would give that person for a wedding present. In my area, the typical wedding present is $20 - $30 for non-family, so I would give $10 - $15 for high school graduation. I have never personally heard of anyone receiving gifts for college graduation...and I hope that never catches on here.

My daughter just graduated, and she got monetary gifts ranging from $10 to $50. Of course all these people were either family or church friends. Seeing that you don't really know the girl, maybe a $20 in a nice card?

I was going to ask if the young woman was graduating from high school or college. However, since you do not know the young woman very well, I would give $25. That's a decent amount and she can put it towards college expenses or anything else (a trip, maybe?)

I give kids a check in the amount of the year they graduated. This year the check is for $20.07. It's fun to see the kid try to figure out why the goofy amount.

I'd agree with Zippy.
If she's someone that you know...family....it's $50-100 for them at high school...and double for college. (triple if it's grad school or medical school)
for someone like what your talking about $25 is fine for high school or college graduation.

If she's not someone you see regularly or have known forever, $25 is fine. (If it was your niece or cousin, I'd double it.)
