Those puppies don't just pop out, believe me. The firing pin itself is held in by a retainer. Go to Numrich Arms and look at their schematics for a break down. I will look at my SKS tonight and if you contact me tomorrow I will try to give you a specific "how to" on what to do.

check shotgunsnews.com they have the manuals that you need to take apart your sks, but that pin is toast they just dont "pop" out

If it came out you either lost the retaining pin or the firing pin broke.
www.surplusrifle.com has a section on bolt disassembly and reassembly with pictures, it may help.

the pin needs replaced. it is broke, that is why it came out. i bet the weapon has been abused.
