Yo, get this, friend. The people of the Southwest did not cross the border; the border crossed them. And the people of Spanish language and New World Culture already run the Southwest. Try visiting New Mexico some time. Prepare to have your eyes opened: here is the future, and it's not gringo. The Hispanics make more babies (many many many many more) than you Gringos, they control the economy, own most of the privately-held land, and cast most of the votes.
They have also taken over the Roman Catholic Church in America, no mean feat. (And a really good idea; when was the last time you heard of a Chicano fascist?)
In other words, my ignorant gringo colleague, you have missed the point: the gringos never really had control of the Southwest; it's just that of late, the Hispanics are taking a higher, more visible, profile.

If southwest be given to Mexicans then it wont be any good but like Mexico and all they would do is move to where it is not Mexico.
See the picture here, they don't want to be in Mexico, they want to drain America from it's resources and put it back for Mexico, even if you give the whole part of America they will then move and try to invade Canada. There's no getting out, it's like a plague, we would end up like 28 days later.

1.- The southwest was stolen from Mexico 150 years ago.
2.- US only paid for a small portion south Arizona called "Mesilla"
But you don't have to give it back, we already took over it.
By the way, we are already going into Canada as well.

Where do peoplle get the idea it was stolen from Mexico? I see some say oh no one really believes that.. yet we still keep seeing people say it.
The USA paid Mexico for the land. And if someone had anything to say about it maybe they should have brought it up 150 years ago.

america is america
that is something i can be proud of. i hate it when people disrespect mexicans and hispanics, and i love mexico, but i do not believe in giving any part of america to anyone.
