You can do 15 push ups every day. It's not wimpy, at least you are doing some. When I was in the Army we did 100's of push ups everyday and it will give you great results. As soon as 15 push ups are easy add 15 more so you're doing 30. I do 20 push ups 5 times a day every day including Sunday and my chest and arms are hard and strong. I do many other exercises too, but I love push ups because I can do them anywhere and anytime. You also have to watch what you eat. Duh!! Try some crunches for your abs and some squats for your legs and butt. Keep it simple and you'll be fine. Good luck.

You go on and do 15 push ups for as long as you can until it becomes super easy, then add five more and when they get easy, add five more. Keep doing that and you'll build the muscle you want and shed some of the fat you don't want.
Remember, it won't happen overnight, so just get into the habit of doing your push ups and before you know it you'll be several months down the road and by then you'll be seeing a difference.

How about you do 2 sets of 15 one day and do the same the day after the next. This gives your chest time to rest.

Ive seen them do that to. When I lived in Florida. I never thought about it, but now that you mention it I bet it has something to do with attracting a mate. They are probably making themselves look bigger or stronger and a better mate. If they are the kind that has the red thing that they can stick out of their neck, see if they do that when they do the push ups. I think only the males have that and that is to attract a mate, so that would probably mean it was related.

remember: stretches your muscle before and after workout. Allow you muscle to rest. That's the period when your muscle will grow stronger and become more defined.
15 is not wimpy. As long as your pushing yourself(and feeling the burn) then it's OK.

is your chest sore afterwards? because if it is you're accomplishing something. but 15 is not going to do much. to increase muscle you have to increase the workload, otherwise they will just stay the same. try doing 5 more every day, if you can't do it try it again the next day. the more you do the stronger/better you'll get. but do them right.... 5 good push-ups is worth 100 bad ones

It's going to take more of that (As in numbers and pushup style [There's about 20 styles of pushups]), combined with cardio to get a more toned chest.
