I have an 01 Pathfinder as well... same problem. The dealer "reprogrammed the ECM" about 2 months ago (4k miles) and charged me about $170... problem went away.

Also, my wife has an Odyssey which had the same problem, the Honda dealer told me "off the record" Midas or someone like that could replace the Cat converter for about 1/10 the the dealer would charge.
