Now Windows is fimilar to many users and has a good user friendly UI (due to its popularity) and Linux over the last few years has just been getting better with Beryl and other cool things.
So imagine, the looks of Beryl, the UI of Windows and the security of Linux.
Wouldn't it be great?
Also if it were free!

That be awesome, but let's be realistic, won't happen. There is however Lindows. It's actually been out for a few years combining the security and stability of UNIX/Linux with the looks and feel of Windows. A few years to late buddy, been there, done that. Google it. It came free with newly bought emachines.

Why would you need them to "join"? If all the people that made software for Windows also made Linux versions, there would be nothing you would need from Windows.

Windows is inferior in every way...it brings nothing to the table.

If you're going to wish for something, wish for all the hardware manufacturers to either open source their drivers or make Linux versions of their drivers.

someone said never happen linspire which is for sale only version of linux sold out to microsoft last week. look for bill gates to now sue the open source versions claiming he owns the entire rights to all linux programing. we should of known that once he got apple in his pocket linux would be next.

really that's like trusting 'the borg' to look after your black friend, your midget cousin, and your hermaphrodite father/mother while you pop down the shops for a carton of milk...

there is actually already a windows-like linux created for people who aren't confident with making the switch, it's called linspire:

i'm sure though that alot of people would be all for microsoft scrapping windows and starting from scratch but i can't see it happening - they're happy having the monopoly on os'.
