1. Muhammad Ali - his style allowed him to fight & frustrate everyone. He can beat the smaller strong fighter like Joe Frazier & then use his speed, quickness, toughness, heart & extreme boxing IQ to beat George Foreman. He would have destroyed Rocky Marciano. The only heavyweight that would have made a good fight with Ali would have been Joe Louis.

2. Sugar Ray Leonard - all his fights were electricfying he never had a dull fight. He also ducked no one. He was smart he knew he couldn't stand toe to toe with Marvin Hagler, Tommy hearns did who hits harder than Leonard & only lasted 3 rounds. After losing to Duran in the rematch he did the ultimate embarrassment he made him quit. Great Showman!

3. Mike Tyson - before he let Kevin Rooney go as his trainer he had the opportunity to be one of the greatest fighters ever. Once he let Rooney go he didn't have direction in his corner & he needed that. He was a student of the game but he didn't have a big boxing IQ. He also was a very tough fighter if you watch the loss to Buster Douglass he took a ton of punishment & still was able to land a punch that had Buster down for 11 seconds.

I will only list boxers that I have seen live or live on TV. I first got into Boxing at 10 years old during the build up to the first Ali / Frazier fight, so I will list only the boxers since 1971. Ken Norton - ex-marine and is from San Diego (I grew up in LA). Actually beat Ali all three times they fought - only one was close. Loved that herky-jerky crab style. Tie: Salvador Sanchez and Alexis Arguello (they were damn near the same guy) - great boxing technicians who could do it all! Wish Sanchez woulda lived. Arguello gets extra credit for quitting boxing to go fight the Communist Sandinista government in his native Nicaragua. Finally, Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini. Not the greatest boxer, but gave it his all every second of every fight. Also very humble win or lose.
BEST FIGHTER: Roberto Duran
HISTORICAL FIGHTER: Rocky Marciano
SPECIAL NOTE: I really loved Sugar Ray Leonard in the Olympics and his first coupla years as a pro. Then he started all that showboating and I started hating him for it. One helluva great fighter though.

1) Muhammed Ali - without doubt the classiest boxer to don a pair of gloves

2) Ken Buchanan - cheated out of the tile by Duran and then Duran refused a re-match. One of Britain's forgotten boxing giants.

3) "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler - Again cheated of his title this time by Leonard. His dismantling of Minter to win the title was incredible, and his defence of it up till the robbery was genius.

one million. Ali, for showing us how this is executed. 2. Sugar Ray Leonard, for showing that heavyweight want no longer be the only exciting branch. (might that it have been one now.) 3. Evander Holyfield, for demolishing the parable that Mike Tyson grew to become into an all-time large, or grew to become into ever something greater effective than a sturdy puncher. however the subsequent fighter to unify the heavyweight call, and to that end deliver it returned from the ineffective, will circulate up. All we ought to continually do now's locate that fighter. much less annoying pronounced than executed!

Ali - legend on and off the ring

Herol 'Bomber' Graham - huge heart and he's completely nuts away from the ring...great boy!

Nigel Benn - a personal favourate 'The Dark Destroyer'...spanked Chris Eubank big time - nuff said

You did say 'fave' boxers so i presume not all 3 had to be legends like Ali

1. Joe Louis: undefeated heavyweight champion of the world (that's the whole world) after 25 title defenses. 2. Sugar Ray Robinson: poetry in motion.
3. Bob Fitzsimmons: 150+ pound heavyweight champion of the world in the old, tough days. Of course, there was another I never saw, Harry Greb, who was hell on wheels, actually, they called him the Pittsburgh Windmill, who was middleweight champion, yet defeated Gene Tunney twice, and many others.
