I don't believe they have banned medications. Anything in a liquid form has to be put in a 3 oz clear container. If you have more than one container than put them into quart sized zip lock. You can always try the TSA website

All your prescription pills in their prescription bottles are allowed. All liquid prescriptions must be in bottles that contain 3 oz. or less (but look at www.tssa.gov for the latest, on that). Any other liquids (mouthwash, shampoo, etc.) must be in 3 oz. bottles, or less, and stored in a clear zip-lock-type bag for easy inspection.

you can take any medications with you (solid, liquid, etc.) but you have to declare them, if they are liquid, to the TSA. See their website for a complete list of their ridiculous rules. Medications do not count against your liquid limit. If they are in your check bag it doesn't matter the size of any liquid. (Just keep in mind that they will do whatever they want in the end, but these are the official rules.)

some airlines dont allow it. but almost all of them allow commercial medicine (advil, tylenol etc..) if they are stored in your suitcase and mailed to that place.
