What is a normal bible? They have been changed so much. I think the church is rather unfair to your religion.. They should try and maintain rather then change.

It depends on what you mean by "normal" Bible. I actually have several different versions that I use when studying. Some, like the Amplified, are more descriptive by giving you the alternative words one can use with the original text. I like the Complete Jewish Bible because it explains many of the common phrases used in the original languages which makes the passages much clearer and helps one understand the culture. The Message is also a good translation because the language is more modern and easier to understand. Anyone who tells you Americans only read the King James Version obviously knows nothing of the Bible reading American.

Most Americans read an English translation instead of the original Hebrew.

King James version is one of the first known english translations, but now there are many, many translations of the bible. King James uses old English language that can sometimes be hard to understand.

I have several translations (All in English) and I refer to them all.

I have Three versions of King James including a Copy written version of the "Original King James." We Use for the most part The Authorized King James Version. We have another one that is just "King James" - we do see differences in it in various words and phrases.

For us the Authorized King James IS the easiest to understand for 'us.' We use it ALL the time and I have been to the Holy Land to do my own research! The closest I've found IS: the Authorized King James Bible.

Please tell me - What is the: "Normal Bible"??????? Please tell us!

I see many of these bloggers who want to know as well.

Be at Peace - Accept the Grace of God!

Take Care and God Bless!

The King James version was the first translation of the Bible into English commissioned centuries ago. Americans read many many many different translations and variations of the Bible, though many use King James out of tradition.

I was brought up listening to and reading from the King James Version. That's most familiar to me. However, I believe one should use the version of the Bible one can understand best. God is big enough to make sure His message gets through regardless of whether it's KJV, NIV, or whatever!

I read the NIV Bible. King James Version is hard for me to understand, but I sometimes go back to it if I want a different wording on some scripture.

The most common Bible I've seen is the King James Version. I don't know what you mean by "normal" though. The King James Version is a staple English translation of the Bible.

I find it funny that so many people seem to assume the language of God is Old English because of this. "Thou shall not..."
