Lady Lilac, are you saying that the probability that God exists and the probability that she doesn't exist are both close to 0? Does that mean when you sum them, you get something less than 1? Or is there another possibility other than "she does exist" and "she doesn't exist"?
plain-me, where do you get off arbitrariliy assigning a probability of .5 just because there are (in your mind) only two possibilities? Aside from that being completely arbitrary and, well, abusing the definition of probability, why don't you give Vishnu and Zeus and Marduk .5 probabilities as well? Because you then almost certainly end up with more gods, don't you?
People believe in God because their parents tell them to or because a missionary catches them at a vulnerable time.

What god do you speak of? i see god more in a Buddhist sense. All is really one. The self is only illusion. All life is recycled over and over. Just look at nature everything dies and decomposes, and that same material from th old life is used to make up plants on other things. Plants that will be eaten by animals, animals that likely will be eaten by other animals. Science cannot explain all, where does all matter and energy come from? So one day, somehow it all just puffed appeared? Are minds are not even close to being able to understanding tru meaning, that i kno
You have to read the book-DMT:the spirit molecule....which shows the fact that psychedelic substances may be the answer after all

The probability that God exists at the very least should be 0.5 (1/2). He either does or He does not exist.
For those who believe, it's all about faith - being able to believe without seeing. It's like the air you breath, you can not see it but you know it keeps you alive if it is taken away, you die. Likewise, the believers also know they can not see God but He is there. They have experienced His love, presence, care, protection, provision. The more you try to reason it out logically, the more you lose the plot. You will fail to believe. Use your heart not your head.

lol. Then zero must be the highest number in the world.
God is real in my life and obviously not in your. Maybe you need to stop fighting him. Just because someone wrote a book and brought their "eveidence" into it does not mean it is right. there where many therories in science that have been proven wrong by other scientists.
My evidence that God is real is my life. My family is a walking miracle. God is real in our lives and we cannot deny it. Sorry that there is no God in your life. It does not mean that you should try to convince others that God is fake because there is none in your life.

Friend, if you are asking a question of probability i'm guessing that you are a ststitician with a p.h.d. from an Ivy League school, right? No? Well it doesn't matter anyway cause i KNOW that God exists and His son Christ suffered humiliaton, torment and crucifiction for my soul; for i could never be in the presence of God almighty with any blemish attached to me. So before you go making anymore guesses think again and read about it in the New Testament.

Because I don't believe, I know God exists from my own direct, personal experience.

well is very different on peoples view and opinion. There is a God living. If you look in the Holy Bible, it talks to our life right now. How there are going to be disasters and signs of Jesus Christ coming down. It is true, because the Bible says so. Through the Holy Bible, we know and experience Jesus Christ is alive and is within us. He is out there and waiting for his people to turn to him, but since SIN came to God's creation, we are blinded by the fake and we need to open our eyes to the truth, which is Jesus Christ.

How can you prove or disprove the existence of God using statistical probabilities? You either believe, or you don't.

Because He is not the God of probability, He is the God of certainty. Just ask The Spirit of truth to confirm this for you.
