No on the .32, that's not going to do the job. Let's classify the .380 in the same class....it's a marginal defensive round at best.
The 5.56 NATO is for the 'gee-whiz' crowd only. Cool, but not for everyday defense.
That leaves the 9mm and you have a choice between small and smaller. It's up to you, see how each feels in your hands if possible. I have big hands and am a big guy, so I'd pick the larger one, as the little bit more size and weight won't bother me. If the small one feels good, go for it. I carried a 6 round revolver for years and it did it's job....you don't expect to be in an extended gunfight, do you?

I would recommend the PF-9 as a balance between concealment ease and ammunition effectiveness. The PLR-16 is a non-starter from a concealment perspective, and the 9mm is most effective of the remaining choices.
PF-9 is noticably thinner & lighter than the P-11, has a better trigger action & hammer block safety (both similar to the P-3AT) - but you only have 7+1 capacity vs 10+1 for the P-11. From a concealment perspective, for me the PF-9 has a noticable edge because of the lighter weight when fully loaded and the flatter profile.
Current production PF-9s seem to be notably more reliable than early production versions (from posts found at www.ktog.org).
My PF-9 is a constant companion as a front pocket carry in a DeSantis pocket holster. It has been completely trouble free through 400+ rounds of various ammo types and bullet weights, no failures of any sort. Accuracy is good within its intended range, hitting COM at 10 yards is no problem even with rapid fire. Out of the box, trigger pull is somewhat long, but light and smooth with a sharp break. Recoil is sharp but managable. I have somewhat large hands and must tuck my pinky finger under the grip when firing.

Kel-Tec does not have the greatest rep for reliability and accuracy.
The PLR-16, at 51 ounces and 18.5 inches long is just not a concealable weapon, unless you are the Jolly Green Giant.
The .32 auto is too weak a round for a defensive gun.
The .380 auto is lowest powered round I would carry.
The P-11 is probably your best bet from this list. It is light, slim, and concealable. The drawback is the six round mag.
Have you looked at the Taurus list of guns? Check out www.taurususa.com
You will find a wider selection there for about the same price.

When i lived in phoenix i carried a 9mm. For me it was either a 9mm or a 45, and for concealed carrying you obviously want something with a small frame so I went with the 9mm because it would be easier to control. Now if it was a full size pistol then I would have gone with a 45 acp. Anyways to answer your question, go with any of the two 9mm's. a 32 and 380 have very minimal stopping power and a 5.56 pistol of any kind would be tottaly to big and impractical.

Well, it's really up to you, but Kel-Tecs are not the most reliable guns around. If you really want one though, I'd go with the 9mm. If you're looking for something reliable but affordable, I suggest talking to someone at a reputable gunstore. Good luck!

I carry a Para-Ordinance Nighthog in .45cal. with a high capacity clip. It's about $1000.00, but it will do the trick. 13 times quickly and accurately.
