I lived there from 1981 to 1982, but have not been back since. I have plane tickets to go visit next March with my roommates and we'll be there for Purim.
My daughter is leaving the day after tomorrow to visit for 5 weeks.
A tour with the Jerusalem Border Guard? What's that? Is it interesting? How could we sign up?

i go often and just love that country it has so much to offer.Last i was there was in feb and prior was in november...i especially like going in the summer and am planning to be most of the time in tel aviv, but will be staying at the dead sea and jerusalem as well.we might also go to eilat (depends if we can get any good deals).
we also take day trips to the north.
i think the israeli's are very friendly and have the best coffee places.i also enjoy the shopping.
one thing we havnt done is taken a jerusalem border tour....it must be very interesting

I haven't been to Israel in nine years, but I have thought of going back next year for the sixty anniversary (I was there when the 50th occured). I have been to Israel three times in my life (ages 12, 17, and 32) and I love the country more and more every time. The only thing I find sad though is how the dead sea has been drying up. I do hope they finally come up with a way to reverse that. It would be sad to see that national treasure of Israel because of the curative power of the water disappear.
Good Luck!!!

I have not yet been to Israel (missed the opportunity a few times now), but am hoping and planning for sometime in the upcoming spring.
Of what I understand Haifa is becoming a very hot travel spot. Read more about it here: http://israeltravel.wordpress.com/2007/06/02/haifa-travel-to-israel-looking-good/

I lived and worked in the Middle East for several years, and I really, really loved Israel.
The people were wonderful; feisty on the outside, and outspoken, but incredibly kind, hospitable, and generous.
As for the country itself, I didn't expect to be as affected by it as I was. Jerusalem was something really special; achingly beautiful views. The Wailing Wall: my goodness, what an experience! It was bizarre, but I've never felt so safe anywhere in my life, as when my palm was placed against that hot stone.
I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, I lovelovelove Israel.

I wish.... I've only been to Eilat so far. I definitely want to go back, I think it's just a matter time before I do.
