I can tell by your question that you are a warm and accepting person.Thats nice.
I have never gone to Church with blacks,but I drive by one on Sunday mornings.They wear lots of funny hats,so I think if you could get some of your friends to wear them,that would make them feel welcome.

I know that it is sometime difficult to break out of the habits that we grow up with. I can tell that you are not trying to be disrespectful and that you are genuine in your desire to make new members welcome.
The easiest answer to your questions is to welcome EVERYONE the way that you would want to be welcomed or how you would welcome anyone else to your church. They saw something they they liked in your church family, don't charge anything JUST BECAUSE of anyone (ie: changing the music.) If someone doesn't fit into the church as you have it structured now, then it may not be the church for them.

About the only thing I find "real" about this question are most of the answers. However, if you simply were lonely and wanted some interaction from others, then I suppose you did well. You have solicited some response. If, on the other hand, your question is genuine, I suggest you forget about the color of your brother's skin and treat him as you would want to be treated. After all... Jesus said we are to love others as we love ourselves.

Well, calling them "these people" and "colored" is not a good start.
Try being color blind and treating them like you would anyone else. The "Welcome to our church Holmes" will not go over to big either.

All you need to do is walk up to him and stick out your hand. Smile and say "Hi I'm Kermit I haven't met you yet. What's your name? So, What bible study are you going to. Don't know yet? come with me and we can go together! You will really like my group they are a great bunch of people. " Be yourself and welcome them with love. Introduce your new friend to the group. Get them involved with others and all will be well. Hope this helps.

Being black doesn’t define someone for who they are!!!! You want to make him feel welcomed, try talking to him and getting to know him. The best way to let someone know they are welcome is to make them feel like they can be them selves and wanted there. That they have friends. Don't change for them! See what he likes and what you guys have in common.
