It's a scam! You need to inform your bank and close your accounts and open new ones. Make sure you specify with your bank that this company is not allowed to debit your account. Also, don't call to activate the card. You probably want to contact credit bureau to flag your account. So in the future when someone applies for a credit card under your name, the company has to verify with you.

Wow, this card sounds like a major scam that has been going on for awhile. This one link has over a years worth of complaints about them. Why have they not been shut down yet I wonder?

Here is one link that discusses what to do when hit by their fees. I did not read it in depth so I do not know if it covers opting out.

Also, from what I have read, the people who seem to be affected by this are Bank of America customers (like you). Do not do business with a bank that treats you like this. If they were willing to feed you to this wolf then who knows how many others are waiting to be fed. Go and close your accounts with them as soon as possible and find another bank.

First and foremost contact your local Better Business Bureau, file a complaint with them. Then contact IC3.gov and file a complaint with them as well. After which contract your states attorney general's office and file a complaint with them as well. then contact the bank(again) and demand that they cancel any and all accounts you have with them. That's just to start.

cal the -800- number on the card. even if there's no option to cancel, you can usually press "0" and talk to a human. i hate bank of america. it seemed like everytime i turned around they were screwing us somehow.
