You need to do what is good and right for you. Every one is different so it depends on how you feel and what you think. Virginity is still valued it just depends on the source. As long as the person isn't harmful or inappropriate then you need to examine this idea with that person. You both should be on the same page and make sure you are safe. Protect yourself with contraceptives like condoms - even if it is both your first time. There is always a risk of pregnancy and even though you may not have had any previous sexual contact there is still a chance of transmittable infections. Discussing what would happen if pregnancy did occur is important to talk about as well. Remember that once you begin a sexual relationship that the emotional rollercoaster can be difficult to navigate so this should be something you both discuss as well. In addition everything should be consented to. If either one of you is experiencing pain or anything else unpleasurable during sex (and it's bound to happen) talk through it and change what you are doing so that you both have a pleasurable sexual experience. For a female the first few times will probably be uncomfortable and painful but it's important to remember to experiment and find out what turns each other on. Good luck.

If it is as important to you as you say, then no, don't lose it. The worst thing you can do is have sex because everyone else has/is (that's how you're making it sound). So even though you've been in a relationship for 2 1/2 years, if it has lasted that long without sex, that is one great relationship you don't want to lose out on by doing something you don't necessarily want to.

If you aren't ready then don't do it. Its still up to you and its your choice. If the guy can't handle that then kick him to the curb. How old is he by the way? I mean if you have like a few months or so to wait before your 18, you had better do that then, because he could go to jail for having sex with you. And not only that but do you want STDs or babies now? Think about it, the answer will come to you for sure.

Sex not occur before:
1. You are ready to deal with a pregnancy, should it occur
2. You are ready to deal with an STD, should it occur
3. When you know how a woman can become pregnant (all the ways it can occur)
4. When you know what the various STDs are and how they are transmitted and how to help protect against them
5. When you are ready to insist your partner wear a condom (female) or insist that you wear one (male)
6. When you are on a reliable form of birth control and using it properly (female) or ensure that she is (male)
7. When you are ready to deal with any emotional issues that may come from being intimate with another person
Until you've got those things covered, you should not have sex.

there are some people who care about their virginity in the 21st century. That's not indicative of your morals.
