I took the clear blue preg test that measures hcg. i'm not athletic or under weight. I had this procedure done, where they take samples of my uterus to check for cancer 4 yrs. ago and that was neg. I was adopted, so there are no family members that i can get answers from.

Are you under weight? Females athlete stop bleeding when they compete due to lack of body fat. Talk with your female relatives (mom, sister or aunt) & find out what normal is for your family. Have your doc. do some blood work to check your hormone levels. Are you on any Birth Control pills right now?

Sounds like you just have a history of irregular periods.

What kind of pregnancy test did they do on you? Qualititave or quantitative Hcg?

Do you exercise a lot? Are you very thin? How is your iron intake? Have you been tested for ovarian cysts or polycystic ovarian disease? How about other hormone tests?

Sounds like you should go back to your Doctor and ask more questions. :)

I think you should talk to your doctor about the possibility of you having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. i was diagnosed with it when I was 19, and before then, I got a period every 5-9 months. It is very common amongst teenagers and women in their 20's who are overweight and have low activity levels.

I have been having irregular periods my whole life.. I once went 3 month without a period at all and I wasn't sexually active at the time.I was always told you should have a period every 28 days... I can honestly say that has NEVER happened. Maybe it is just the way your body is, or stress.

I hate to tell you, be there is a thing called early menopause. You can go through it at any age. Since you were adopted, its hard to say about family history. Talk to your doctor, and see if there is a test that can be giving to check to make sure you are not going through menopause.

My first 5 years of having a menstrual was never predictable. My cycle really didn't become a cycle until after I had my first child. If you would like to have a predictable cycle I would suggest some sort of BC. TAlk to you OBGYN.

Go to your doctor and get a real pregnancy test, (blood test) it will clear your worries about being pregnant, if not pregnant then your doctor might be able to help if you explain to her/him what you are experiencing and tell her/him you are very worry about it.
