I like the way you are not calling this person your friend. A friend would not ask you to lie, much less to lie in court.

Tell this person that you will be to testifying to the truth.

Sometimes we have to stand up for what is right even when it is uncomfortable.

God bless.

With love in Christ.

Legally, you are under no obligation to provide self-incriminating testimony. It's in the Constitution.

As a Christian, you are bound by the Commandment Thou Shall Not Lie. If what this woman wants you to say is not true - don't testify.

A good friend of mine was in a car accident. I was in the passenger seat. The accident was not my friend's fault, all involved knew this. However, my friend's mother called me up asking for a statement - needlessly embellished with fictitious details.

I flatly refused to submit nothing other than my personal observation as an eyewitness. This was unacceptable to my friend's mother - but like $#@* I'm going to lie, especially when giving legally binding testimony!

Reality Check: when people get into an accident, the last thing most will do is admit fault. Some will make up phony stories to explain how an accident was not their fault.

In life, you are going to ecounter liars and cheats of all shapes and sizes. You will win some of these battles, you will lose some of these battles. This is life.

One thing you CANNOT afford to do is get all worked up when these sorts of things happen. You will go through life with an ever-increasing load of grudges on your shoulders. You will become bitter and unhappy. That's not the way to life a Catholic Christian life.

It's frustrating, I know. I myself was in a situation where I was unable to prove a given accident was not my fault. I was unable to, and I was stuck with a hefty surcharge on my insurance for fice years. But, considering I'd spent a month laid up from that accident, having to swallow some pride by tolerating a surchange seemed a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things.

The best thing to do - the only thing to do - is tell the Truth, come what may.

Well, it's more about being an assertive person than being a good Christian. Yes, it is always good to follow the Golden Rule and do unto others as you want them to do unto you, but that's just it- this girl is not following that rule, she is just trying to get out of paying a careless driving ticket. God wants us to be good, but He also wants us to be honest, so by going there and testifying against her, you are doing the morally right thing, not just for yourself, but for the whole justice system. Assert yourself and don't turn the other cheek just because you feel that forgiveness is God's way.

The correct response is always found in what motivates your actions, rather than the actions themselves. If I were you, I would show up - not out of anger - but simply to be as helpful to the court as possible, and to testify to the truth.

Who knows why she's challenging what she's challenging... it could be that one of those "ex-cop" agencies is representing her, and recommending she say that. They've probably told her you won't show up, and will win by default if you don't.

The only thing you can do in this situation is simply to ensure that if you do go to court, it isn't out of anger (don't let the sun go down on your anger, as the good book says.)

Go to tell the truth. To clear your name. But not because you are upset. You don't want to hang onto that, tempting as it might be. :)

Many protestants, both by way of lack of information or to justify their heresy, attempt to say that the Catholic church isn't a Christian church. They equate the Catholic church to the whore of Babylon for a few rationale, which has continually baffled me, for the reason that the Catholic Church has under no circumstances been related to Babylon, which used to be firmly within the fingers of the Zoroastrians till it fell to Islam. They accuse the catholic church of heretical, non-christian practices by way of mis-representing a few of the practices of the church. Much of this lack of information is situated at the fallacy that Christian church buildings need to be biblical. If it isn't within the Bible, it isn't Christian. The main issue with that is that The fashioned Christian church buildings had been NOT situated at the Bible, however as an alternative the Bible used to be situated at the fashioned Christian church buildings. Aside from the jap orthodox, Coptic church and their derivatives - all of which might be identified by way of the Roman ceremony - all your so-known as "protestant" church buildings are both offshoots of Catholicism that have spurned the Authority of the Roman patriarch, or they're Bible situated cults which popped up with none recognizable lineage again to the early church fathers. The Catholic church is the ONLY Christian church within the West that has an unbroken lineage of apostolic succession.

Sounds to me like the other woman didn't have insurance and doesn't want to be libel. Generally there isn't a court case unless someone is sueing, so protect yourself. Jesus was referring to an actual slap on the face, not every insult.

As a Catholic, speak with your priest.

Otherwise, I would suggest you speak with your insurance company and possibly get a reference for a skilled lawyer.

If she really is at fault then keep sticking to the truth, especially if that means going to court.

On the moral side, speak with a priest; on the legal side, speak with an attorney.

What the hell does this have to do with being a Christian?
Just testify.

Do not discount truth, and do not corroborate a lie.

Go and tell your side of the story.
