Who wrote this? I cried because I had no shoes, and then I met a man who had no feet.?

I was wondering if it is Persian or arabian or something. I cant get a straight answer.

It is from Arabian folklore. Similar to this is Bob Wright's statement -

"I cried because I had no shoes, 'till I met a man who had no feet. So I said, 'You got any shoes you're not using'?"

I'm not sure if that was what you meant.
