I can only tell you my experience with it since it's different for everyone, BUT, it practically knocked me out the first 2 or 3 weeks I was on it and I only started at 5mg. I was taking it in the morning and I was deliriously tired by 8pm, to the point that I couldn't walk straight. It really messed me up. It also gave me something similar to 'restless leg syndrome'. I'd be dead tired but as soon as I sat down I felt like I had to stand up. It was terrible. I'm also taking Lexapro and Klonopin so it may have been the mixture of the drugs (?). When I went up from 5mg to 10mg, I was fine and the sleepiness went away. It was raised again to 15mg and I'm still fine. I also take it before bed now. No more bad side effects.

Not that I've noticed. I normally take it before bed, but when I take it and don't go straight to bed I don't notice any difference. It really depends on the person, though, whether or not it makes me sleepy has no bearing on whether it will make someone else sleepy.
