Where does one start? There is a lot of information about Australia. Googling "Australia" gets 412,000,000 hits.
A good place to start would be Bill Bryson's book "Down Under". That will tell you a lot and point you in the direction of more information. It is an interesting and enjoyable read as well.

You can find out lots about Australia when you go to a library. Go there and find books, travel guides, books with photos, and about its history.

Brisbane is a very cool city. Beautiful weather year round. Believe it or not they like Americans. I was there for a week, and a woman actually said hi to me! But wouldn't take me home to her place...boo hoo hoo.
