120 Hz, a few TVs this year and most LCD TVs in 2008 - This improves motion blur on LCDs

LED backlight - Wider color gamut

Wide gamut LCD panels and regular backlight

More bits/pixel for LCD panels (10 or 12 vs 8 now)

Hi terry_powerprofit,

I really can't see much additional improvement coming for a long time. How much better then 1080P is the human eye capable of seeing.

What's next? How about 1440p. They've already got 1440p TV's coming down the pipe, as early as late this year. Also rumored to be a PS3 update to accommodate 1440p as well...

I think there will be a continued increase of resolution and color depth (which is more critical at this point). At some point it will not make much of the differnce - just like 7mp cameras vs 10mp cameras,etc.
