I dropped by to see my aunt and uncle the other day, uninvited.
They asked me to stay for dinner and I did. As we were sitting down to eat, my uncle asked me what I would like to drink and I said water would be fine. He gave me a glass of water, but it was unchilled water with no ice in it. Room temperature water from the tap. I did not say anything. It's not a real big deal, but I personally would never serve anyone unchilled water unless they asked for it that way.
The reason I stopped by uninivited: They never call me or invite me over. My uncle did say to me one time though that I should just drop by anytime and not worry about being invited.
So I took him at his word and just dropped by without being invited.

No. Good Lord.
P.S. - It's impolite to stop by without calling first. They were gracious to invite you to have dinner.

Maybe they like to see you, but don't like to be the ones to instigate the meeting.
If that is the case then dropping by uninvited is probably the best thing to do. If they asked you to stay for dinner, then I would consider that a good sign. I wouldn't read into the glass of water too much. Maybe they don't mind water right from the tap, and assumed you did too. You should just asked for some ice or something.

No way! Don't be offended! People have different ways for everything. They are older and when they thnk water they think of it from teh tap and not bottled water like us young ones do! I would never do the same either! However I have a friend that is from Mexico and everytime I go over to his house for a visit he offers me something to drink and for the longets time they offered it to me from the tap. I just started asking for something else. They just don't know any better. They invited you to come over anytime so they meant it. Theyw ere probally very happy to have you stop over! Dont be offended sweetie!!!

The bottled water craze is a phenomena that has not played a big role in the lives of older generations. I think most would find the concept of paying for water ludicrous. Do not be offended. You got what you asked for as far as your uncle is concerned

If they drink their water from the tap, it's just their way. If they got ice water and gave you tap, that's strange. Are they older? Sometimes the elderly just plain old forget. Should you be offended? No. You were just understandably uncomfortable and paranoid about going over unannounced, that's all. Enjoy being with your family.

No, you did what your uncle told you to. You should be fine. Unchilled water isn't really a big deal, most people serve, don't think anything of what happened.

No you shouldn't be offended unless you know for sure that there was ice in the freezer and cold water in the fridge. You shouldn't jump to conclusions about such small things. They didn't have to even invite you to eat but they did. So, let it go and see what happens next time.

No you should not be offended by them giving you room temperature tap water. Chances are, they may not have had refrigerated bottled water. Believe it or not, some people still drink tap water.

If they invited you to dinner, they wanted your company and were happy to see you. Are they elderly people? When my mother got older she couldn't drink chilled water any longer. I don't believe she would have ever served it to anyone else this way, but...who knows.

Theres nothing to be offended about. They invited you for dinner and served you. I hope you thanked them for their hospitality.
You need to face the fact youre hard to please and that when people invite you, you accept what they give and do not have expectations of what you deserve. If youre offended dont go back there again but its a very stupid reason to be offended.
