You mean those pouges who feed you?
Those pouges who maintain your vehicle?
Those pouges (such as truck drivers) who have more dangerous jobs than you do?
Get off your high horse - there are lots of people who work harder than you do. And most of them take the same risks you do.
BTW - you get a CIB so whats your problem?

Having been there....pogues getting combat patches aren't an issue for me. The reg states that you just have to be in a combat zone...not that you are engaged by the enemy.
Now...let's talk about the CIB, CMB and the CAB....there I have some heart burn...
My opinion...but the CAB has been turned into the equivalent of the "Leave No Soldier Behind" badge....

Wow, so I guess the Infantry is so incredibly tough and utterly self-sufficient and self-reliant that they don't need:
Food
Water
Ammunition
Protective gear
Replacement Equipment
Repairs
Radios
Paychecks
Information/Intelligence
Engineering Support
Mail
Personnel Actions
Translator Support
Construction Supplies
Fuel
or anything else.
And the "pogues" you refer to have no chance of ever being in any form of combat on the modern battlefield, right? Gee, if that's true, then why do they always tell us that every Soldiers second MOS is 11B -- Infantryman -- in a pinch? Why do those REMFs need to learn how to fire a rifle? Or shoot an AT weapon? Why do the REMF officers and NCOs need to know how to call in artillery? Or defend their position?
Strikes me that you, hawkeye8701, have absolutely NO FLIPPIN' IDEA what goes on in the military, and you're just trolling your inane question.
Want to learn more about it? How about enlisting? then you could find out just how tough it is in amy one of the myriad of jobs there are in the modern army.

you sound dumb saying patch. you talking bout the unit patches then? no one gives a **** cause they rate bein with that unit.. if theyre with that unit then they deserve it.. duh!!
possibly you mean badge or ribbon, which would be individual, as you phrased your question. and then yes, some people who dont rate have been known to weasle in.. but thats usually an army problem. the marines and navy are much stricter and wait longer for them.

this is ****** retarded! first, i doubt you mean patch.. you mean ribbon.. i got a combat action. CAR. (marines)
i was on lsa anaconda. oh, guess what? im a pogue!
damn proud of it. all marines are rifle men first. i been on convoys. we supplied logistic support to grunts, and had to go out..got fired at just like grunts did.. our main job was not to fight, but to support, but the insurgents and IEDS didnt discriminate. i had my good share of fire fights.. and most everyone on anaconda had a runin with a mortar even on base. that **** is no joke.
anyone whos been out there knows, we're all in it together..
but hey, the army is different.. i heard BS stories there, but again we are in it together.. they dont give em out like good cookies..
