Will I have to convince an ENT to operate on my deviated septum?

I am in tons of pain and it is causing sinus problems and headaches. I have been referred to an ENT-I guess maybe that is all they do is mostly surgery?

ENTs specialize in head and neck surgery. The ENT will probably recommend surgery.
