Yes. Most credit card companies require that you file a police report in order to initiate their fraud protection services.

Besides, its always a good thing to report this behavior to the police.

You can put a fraud alert immediately BUT it only stays on your credit report for three months. FIle a police report, make notarized copies and send them to the credit reporting agencies. This form of "credit alert" will stay of for 7 years and will indicate " fraud victim", if and when your credit report is every pulled during that time.

YES-YES-YES- Not much will be done but then you have reported to the proper authorities, if the suspect is from your area then the police can arrest for fraud.........
