I am personally affected when my husband who is black can't get or keep a construction job because all the sites are Mexicans! They hire their own and layoff the whites and blacks and replace them w/ mexicans. So "YES" I am personally affected by illegals! How do we pay our bills if my husband cannot get work?? Yet the illegals run around in new vehicles and buy new homes because they have all the jobs? Not all the jobs the illegals are taking are the fruit picking jobs! Wake up America! The construction companies are hiring them over US Citizens because they'll accept $9-12 hr! Where a Union Carpenter makes $23+ hr. This is rediculous! If that law passes they will have the right to get SSN? I want to ask the government "Can I have the right not to pay into SSN, you know since I won't benefit from it!" Such BS!

WHAT THE HECK? THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH 70% OF YOU! HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE CRIMINALS? THE ONLY MISTAKE MOST OF THEM HAVE MADE IS COMING HERE ILLEGALLY. TRUE, SOME PEOPLE ARE CRIMINALS AND DESERVE TO GET SENT BACK BUT THERE ARE SOME HONEST PEOPLE WHO ARE AFFECTED UNFAIRLY. WHY CAN'T YOU IGNORANT IDIOTS JUST REALIZE THAT PEOPLE AFFECTED BY IMMIGRATION IS MORE THAN JUST YOU OR THEM. KIDS ARE AFFECTED TOO. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA TELL THE LITTLE 5 YEAR-OLD GIRL WHEN THEY ARE FORCING HER PARENTS BACK TO A LAND OF EXTREME POVERTY OF WHICH THEY ESCAPED TO MAKE A BETTER LIFE FOR HER? "SORRY, SWEETIE, YOU DON'T BELONG. WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE."? IS THAT WHAT YOU ARE GONNA TELL HER? ANYONE WHO WANTS THIS TO HAPPEN IS A MONSTER WHO SHOULD GET BANISHED SOMEWHERE ELSE. THE WORLD DOESN'T NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

by the way: I am not an illegal. I am a proud U.S. citizen.

I am personally affected due to the fact that once people get there citizenship, and or naturalization, and/ or work permit, we have a problem in this country with favoring these people. I say forget these folks, manage and care for your own country men, then once that issue is under control then we can extend our hand in assistance. Does anyone realize we have a genuine issue in America. WE send billions of dollars in food , aid, support, Etc, Etc out of the country. Is it so difficult to rehabilitate America? Again there are quite a few folks in America that can benefit from these tax dollars. Your tax dollars, my tax dollars. I would much rather have that money spent here. I don't care about other countries. I care about this one, and I'm surer our forefathers, the men and women who died defending us are rolling over in their graves just watching this country suffer it's people. I'm sure most who read this will offer a unwarranted political attack upon, Republicans, or Democrates. I hope in my life time we'll as a nation realize that it would be beneficial for us to care for our own. And the question I have to ask here is, Does anyone know how many countries helped the United States when we have natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes? I encourage all to think about this issue.

We're all affected by it. Illegal immigration happens in large enough numbers to affect the whole structure of our society.

Many illegal immigrants are good, nice people on an individual basis. However looking at the bigger picture, illegal immigration harms society. It takes away jobs from deserving legal citizens. It lowers wages. It raises crime rates in big cities and small towns alike. It takes government and local resources away from deserving legal citizens who need aid. Statistics show that illegal immigrants are much less likely to become participating members of society who give back to their community, than those who come here legally. Illegal immigration takes government and local resources away from programs that would benefit society as a whole. What would our schools look like if all the money spent giving illegal aliens food and healthcare was instead spent on our educational systems?

Our nation is very, very open to immigration. Much more so than other nations. There are multiple ways to come here - for education, for a job, and more. They are welcome to come here, but they should do it legally.

Yep! They didn't catch him at the border, I fell in love with him, then I married him and had a family together. Spent a fortune we did not have, often eating very meagerly and barely making it financially, because those illegals do NOT get the freebies they keep getting accused of getting, and finally, through a process of 8 years, got his citizenship! Thank God!

I live in Southern California and I have to say that most are very nice people. Just like most citizens. And they give and take from this country (just like citizens do).

My issue is with those who come on a visa and don't leave when it expires. Because of this, my mother in law from the Philippines cannot come here to see her grandson. She has been denied because the US gov't thinks she will do the same thing.

Do I like the fact that Mexicans cross illegally? NO
Do I think they should be sent back when caught? YES
Do I blame them for trying?

No...

Yes I have. My husband who is one of the most intelligent, honest, hard-working, and responsible men I have ever met in my life, came here illegally. He is the eldest son of 13 and wanted a better life for himself. Imagine for a second growing up without the good food, t.v., gifts at Christmas, birthdays etc., education-because you have to go to work with your father. These are the things we Americans take for granted. He did and he was smart enough to take a chance and try to make a better life for himself. He is a good man and I will never allow anyone to belittle him. His English is probably better than most Americans. Seriously.
On another note, can we talk about the Americans here who are living off the system and refuse to work? What is their excuse. They had too many babies and cannot take care of them. How are we affected by that? My husband and I are both hard working and we pay our taxes. So that these people can enjoy their food stamps and welfare. I don't give a shxt if you were stupid and had babies with the first man that crossed your path. Why do I have to pay for that?
At least the Mexicans I know do go to work and work hard to take care of their families. They love their families and will get up in the morning to go to work and put food on the table.

I lived in the Boston area for many, many years. Somerville Mass. to be exact. Sanctuary city. I worked for a non-profit, social service agency. We had people from every country, with MassHealth cards, food stamps, unable to speak English or even read or write in their own language. We had to take care of their children while they took advantage of free education, of course provided by the state of Mass. Our childcare centers were 30% caucasian and african-american. The rest was filled with Haitian, Vietnamese, etc. They were not legal, but were provided services just the same. The families of legal U.S. citizens were forced to childcare centers farther away from their home or work place, when they should have had access to our wonderful programs right in their own backyard.

The parents did not know or accept our ways and laws. Some would beat their children because it was acceptable in their country. The Deptmartment of Social Services would have to make decisions about which to prosecute according to the native ways of their people. Ridiculous. If you beat your child, you lose them and you are prosecuted. Period.

This is how it affected me negatively.

Positively, my son attended this childcare center. He learned not to judge someone by their skin color or nationality. He is better off for knowing the children, not necessarily the parents.

Higher taxes - $9 BILLION is paid for the illegal aliens in CA alone / Higher health care costs / crowded schools for my kids / bad drivers (Baja CA license plates are a safe assumption of an illegal) / close call almost accidents (Baja CA license plates are a safe assumption of an illegal) / traffic sucks!

These are just MY experiences. Thank goodness my ID hasn't been stolen and my job can't be affected by the illegals!

In spite of some have said (above) there is absolutely NOTHING POSITIVE about the illegal alien criminals that are here breaking our laws. If they were gone, food prices MIGHT go up a few cents since labor is such a tiny portion of the cost of produce. The extra money we pay for them greatly outweighs any benefits. WE DON'T NEED THEM.
