Any losers out there joining the Navy or an other branch out out of sheer desperation(almost 30).

I didn't mean to offend anybody or the military. I was calling myself a "loser" and was wondering if anybody else is joining, who is also approaching 30. I think the miltary would be great for me and get my life together/started.

My husband Joined the Army at age 32. He is not a looser. He is doing very well in the army and has moved right up the rankes. Age makes a big difference when joining the military. He has already learned about life and is able to use it to his and the militarys advantage. They are truely happy with him being there and on their side. So don't dis what you don't know. It's a smart idea for those who can handle hard work and diligence.

All armed forces officers could have a bachelor's degree, so which you do meet that requirement. in spite of the undeniable fact that, i do no longer understand in the experience that your age might preclude you type getting into the army as an officer. you could enlist in army, then carry on with for officer classes for enlisted contributors. Your eligibility could count on your container of artwork (customary interior the army as a score). I initially enlisted in army suited out of highschool, earned my BS after my enlistment, and am presently interior the Naval Reserve. i'm now too previous to stay with for officer classes, yet i like being an enlisted NCO. in case you think again a musical container, you could enlist interior the army band software. so a techniques as i understand, all contributors of the army bands have a song degree, yet you will no longer advance into an officer.

watch your mouth. the military is not a place to go out of sheer desperation or to avoid being a loser. you join because you have something to offer, not to run away.

I went to Basic Training (ARMY) when I was almost 32. That was 83. I didn't know 18 yr olds fresh out of high school were in such bad shape. Therefore I enjoyed being called "POPS"

If you believe you are a loser, you will be. Joining the armed forces is a positive choice, not a desperate one.

Plenty of people join when they are older. Don't worry. You may have a boss that is younger than you but I'm sure they wil respect you out side of work.

Funny, the service is now taking 40 year old now. They have said (the service) that older recruits bring in a wealth of experience & maturilty.
