I'm 22, and in 2 weeks will be attending my friend's wedding along with my girlfriend. I'm in his wedding party and I've known him since high school. My question is how much is a good gift to give? I want to help him with his bills since they just moved in together and I was thinking that $250 is sufficient? I am also having to spend $200 on a hotel room and $160 on a tuxedo, so I'm not exactly swimming in cash right now....Suggestions please

You want to at least cover the cost of you and your dates dinner. That amount that you're saying you want to give is perfectly fine and absolutely generous. :)

I think $200 would be more than generous, especially if you aren't wealthy. Honestly, I think $100 (or even $150 if you are bringing a date) might even be enough since I am sure he realizes how much your are spending on the tux and hotel room.

Have fun!
