He doesn't really care. But I think he would look better. He's only 11 so...

the patient has to be motivated. a contact lens fit almost never works when its the parents/siblings who "want" contacts for the patient, but the patient doesnt care either way.

he's going to have to "want" it before he can be a successful wearer. lets face it: there is significant work involved in learning how to insert, remove and take care of contacts. it isnt all that easy, especially if you're 11.

that being said, i have fit contacts as young as 4 years old in medically necessary cases...so its certainly possible

I don't believe an Eye Doctor would write a prescription for contacts for an 11 yr old.

You have to follow a certain regime when wearing contacts and I don't think an 11 yr old, would be trusted to do so.

Sure, why not? I mean, I wore glasses for the longest time and was pretty stubborn about it, but i'm glad i finally decided to go with contacts. I look a lot better without glasses and it's a lot less of a hassle to wear contacts. It makes it so much easier to go swimming and play sports. I think he should go for it.

Then no, he shouldn't. It's HIS choice. Telling him he'd look better with contacts and not glasses will only teach him to be vain at a young age. I wear glasses and my husband doesn't, and he thinks I look fine.
No more talking to your brother about contacts, okay?

Glasses are so much easier to use than contacts. Contacts are high maintenance. It would depend on how responsible and mature your brother is. If he can handle the high maintenance, then ok. If not, then stay with glasses.

He is too young, he has to wait because it is really important to know how to use them you can get an eye infection so just wait and it is up to him if he later he wants to wear contacts.

this girl i know is the same age as your brother and she has contacts. its probably going to be kinda hard for him since he's pretty young for contacts. but again. alot of people i've known have gotten contacts that age many times.

He's too young and irrisponsible for contacts. If your bro wants them he can talk to his eye doctor, but she's probably say the same thing.

let him choose. What if he can't put them in, then he has to get glasses and then he's going to think it's "uncool".
