Prejudiced and ungrateful people like YOU are the problem!

Illegals take American jobs. - I know many Americans who choose NOT to work and instead soak our welfare programs
dry.

Illegals drive down wages. - Maybe it will drive Americans to work more for their money. $200/hr. for legal consultation. $1 million dollars/yr. for putting a basketball through a hoop. Come on, spare me!

Illegals don't pay taxes. - If amnesty is granted to them, they will have no choice but to pay taxes.

Illegals drain the healthcare system. - BIG fallacy! I know more Americans who smoke 5 packs a day who waste more of our healthcare money than any illegals do.

Illegals drain the school system. - Do you have proof of this? Or is this just another unwarranted generalization?

Illegals threaten our national language. - Have you ever heard Mike Tyson or Leon Spinks speak? Have you heard of Ebonics? They actually teach it at some of our PUBLIC tax-paying schools. Millions of Americans can't speak a lick of English, most notably, professional athletes who are getting paid millions of dollars per year.

Illegals include many criminals. - Do a statistics check and you will find that most criminals in America.... are American! Duh!

Illegals are lawbreakers by definition. - By who's definition? Our government? The same government who d, pillaged, and stole this land from Native American Indians in the 15th and 16th centuries?

Illegals use their foreign language as a secret code. - And I suppose George Bush conspired to bring down the WTC on 9/11? Keep your conspiracy theories out of this.

Illegals are lazy. - I guess this explains why I see more hard-working Mexicans digging ditches and flipping burgers than I do American citizens. This is just an outright racial stereotype.

The US has enough people at 300 million. - Got news for you! We are underpopulated by world standards.

I just don't like foreigners. - And this forms the basis for all of your gibberish and rhetoric.

Robert Shelton - I don't care who my daughter marries just as long as he is a decent, hard-working, Christian, man. Thanks for the support... you just solidified my answer.

1. Illegals don't pay taxes - almost the only issue of real importance. if you come here, benefit from being here, use our resources, you must pay your fair share like the rest of us.

2. The US has enough people at 300 million. Our resources are finite, and if people keep coming here at the same rate they always have, it will destroy what made our country great and made them want to come here in the first place.

3. Illegals drain the health care system - no more so than any indigent person, and with the welfare state our government has created, there are plenty of citizens who drain it too.

4. Illegals take American jobs - I would argue that with the welfare state our government has created, where we actually pay fully capable American Citizens to stay home rather than go out and work, that we actually created the demand that brings many illegal aliens here. In the 1950s and before, American's were proud to work, and work hard and work our way up from (so-called) menial positions like janitor, dishwasher, etc. Now many shun this type of work in favor of collecting food stamps, welfare & disability, and thus the demand for illegal aliens to do this work was formed.

5. Illegals threaten our national language, English - If they move here they should learn English, just as I would learn Italian if I were moving to Italy. That being said most Europeans know several languages, so it wouldn't kill us to make Spanish madatory in school.

6. Illegals drain the school system - If they are in school, then they are learning how to be more productive citizens. I don't see how that's a bad thing. They just need to pay taxes to support it.

7. Illegals drive down wages - supply & demand is just a by-product of capitalism. Don't like it? Perhaps a Socialist country would be more appropriate.

8. Illegals include many criminals - I would have to see true statistics to make a real comment on this, but there's no shortage of American White people in prison, so I'm not sure there is a lot of validity here. I do think that if an illegal alien is caught commiting a crime they should be deported.

9. Illegals are lawbreakers by definition - true, but if you have ever sped above the speed limit then so are you. This is pretty much a non-issue.

10. Illegals use their foreign language as a secret code - anyone can learn any language, so it's not a secret code, it's the language they grew up with. If you're threatened by it, learn it.

11. Illegals are lazy - a racist statement which shouldn't be included on any intelligent list of reasons. I know plenty of lazy people of ALL races, and plenty of all which aren't.

12. I just don't like foreigners. - a racist statement which shouldn't be included on any intelligent list of reasons.

While you have some good reasons listed there, the big problem for me, and I believe many others, is not listed here...and that is...in this post 9/11 era open borders are supremely dangerous. It's not just "harmless" illegals (if there is such a thing) who are crossing the borders, it is people coming here with the express purpose of hurting the country. In order to weed out the terrorists and terrorist wannabes, we have to weed out the harmless ones as well, because they don't have a sign on their back to differentiate between the two categories.

Most important to me is population... problems with things like crime, health care, pollution and school system are pretty much results of such a high population.
Taxes are a problem as well.

i do have a problem with people who think they can come over here and think they have rights like true citizens. i have no problem with people in general...just the fact that they are too lazy to do it the legal way.
