Not sure if anybody can help me out but In May of 2002 I was arrested in Indiana. I was charged with a misdeameanor and a felony. Not to get into to many specifics I never resided in Indiana and was only there for school. In 2003 a judge issued a bench warrant for my arrest that I am just now finding out about. When I talked to a lawyer he said that from that point the Statue of Limitations is tolled and doesnt apply.

My question, I live in Florida I want to resolve this issue. From what I understand I have two options, go up there and turn myself in or hire a lawyer to try and resolve it. I dont want to go up there and have to spend a week or more in Jail for some BS, and i am not sure if the lawy . Once I am arrested for the bench warrant does the statue of Limitations then go back in to effect and therefore the charges are dropped? Also if I did turn myself in how long would it take to resolve everything, meaning getting a court if nessescary and so on. Any help would be appreci

What do you mean by named? They know who I am?

As I'm sure your attorney told you, if a warrant is issued for a named person, it never goes bad. The statute of limitations only applies to unnamed offenders.

You had better get this matter handled and sooner rather than later. If you get pulled over for anything, the cop will run your name for wants and warrants. You really don't want to get pulled over on Hwy. 19 near Cross City and get held until an Indiana cop comes and collects you.

Besides, if you surrender yourself, it will go better for you.

Good Luck.
