That is a really open question. It really depends where in LA you want to live??? I would consider Santa Monica, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Belmont Shore in Long Beach nice areas. You can find a nice 1 bedroom apartment in those areas for $1400-$1500 a month. Maybe a little cheaper in Belmont or Santa Monica if you really look. Hermosa would be the most expensive. The closer to the beach in all these areas, the more expensive it gets. Ontario would be cheaper because it is more inland, but there is really nothing to do there. I would live by the beach if I was you. It is much more fun and you will meet people easier.

Maybe try Rancho Cucamonga or Upland...not too far from Ontario. The rents for a 1 bedroom are about $900-$1000. Claremont is nice as well....but may be a little bit mor expensive. You can also try Glendale, Pasadena, La Crescenta or Montrose.

Probably over $1,000 per month. Anything less would be a dump.

Stay away from Ontario. It's a nasty ghetto.
