My stepsons mother has been dead for almost12 years, and I have had him ever since her death. My husbandsays I have no rights to the wear abouts of my son.. He has lived with me all his life... Now , because of y husband he tells me I have no say so when it comes to Our son................... Is that so?...............

Legally, your husband is probably right.

I don't get why your husband wouldn't want you to know where he is. I am guessing there is a lot more to this that you are telling.

Again.....if you can show that you are the primary caregiver and pretty much raised the boy than the court will usually award joint custody. If the boy opts to reside with you if you ever divorce this piece of sh*t that you're married to, then the court will allow the boy to live with you and the husband...hopefully to be 'ex', visitation.

As pointed out earlier, your husband isn't too smart is he?

If you guys were married, you can seek legal action for visitation rights. I learned this is can be done in the state Texas, for sure, after my research for seeking termination/adoption rights. Being a "step"parent makes you his legal guardian. You can speak with a lawyer to get more information how to go forward with your request for visitations and to be apart of the child's life. Look up the family laws in your state to be sure on this. Good luck!
