If anyone has ever died and came back, tell me. What was it like? Where did you go? What did you learn? Who did you see?

Yeah, after a really bad food allergy.
I had an out of body experience which
was so peaceful. There was a bright
blue shimmering light. Then suddenly
there was alot of annoying chatter
and then bright fluorescent lights.

I found myself looking up at a woman.
I thought she was an angel. Until she
said, How do you feel sir?
We almost lost you. I found out later that
I was dead for 16 minutes.

I guess the fates decided it wasn't my time.
Something does happen after you die but
I gather that the experience is different from
one person to another.

I rolled my car 3 times and died. They brought me back on the way to the hospital (so I was told) then I went into a coma. The only thing I remember is when I started sliding out on the road and then I just woke up in the hospital 2 weeks and three days later. It was really weird because it felt like a second one second I was in a car the next I was in the hospital bed with my mom and dad standing there. I didn't see anybody, go anywhere, or learn anything. All it felt like is a blink of an eye and then when I woke up a lot of pain in my chest and head.

I'm not sure if this is dying, but I almost did once. I was in some huge car accident about 4 years ago the car flipped over and everything. All i saw was some light and it was some nice feeling. I didn't see anyone, didn't really learn anything except that we have to be more careful. All i heard was someone calling my voice but then it all started going away and when i woke up i was in the hospital.

I drowned once. Drowning was very scary to me (I was 7 or 8, but that doesn't matter) but then laying on the bottom of the lake looking at a fish was kind of peaceful. I don't want to die again until I'm very old (like 85 or later), but I don't believe that God would make us go through dying unless it was peaceful at the last. I don't believe in suicide. Every adult should take CPR classes, that's what saved me---some anonymous person (and everybody else on the beach) said that CPR (especially the person who performed it) saved me.

I died on my first birthday and was brought back by the doctors. I have also drowned once as a child. My guardian fought for my life both times.

Billions of people have died. Nobody ever returned after being dead. That is, clinically dead. Many were close to death, and imagined that they were actually dead, but that's not clinical death. They didn't go anywhere. They didn't learn anything. They didn't see anything.

No, but i thought i died in a motorcycle accident. I was kind of surprised to regain consciousness. I didn't go anywhere, except weird dreams. You can see whatever you want to see in that state.

You only come back if you can find one of the green mushrooms, and even then you have to start at the beginning of the level.

Edit: Am I the only one who finds it funny that someone with the screen name "Illyria" (and a picture of Amy Acker) answered this particular question?

You could read 90 Minutes in Heaven or 23 Minutes in Hell.

Two people - one visited each place - both books are currently out in paperback and easily available.

It's not happened to me.

I was born dead. When I was born I was strangled with the embilical cord. They had to resesitate me. I do not remember meeting anyone or anything. I think it is blank. But when I die I will know what happened. There is something. But I don't remember.
