If I can't afford a printed ad, what other ways can I advertise my babysitting service.

I live in North Central Florida--any input on about what I could charge per hour? I have experience & references. TIA!

I have noticed around here, Indiana, that alot of people make up flyers and on the bottom cut it in strips with your phone number so people can tear them off and take it with them. You could post them just about everywhere...post office, grocery stores, gas stations, even possible at your local schools. That would be a great way for people in your local community to see that you have those services available and might even recommend you.

Go on craigslist and put up flyers on the supermarkets and around the neighborhood. Last time I had a sitter (my youngest is 28) I paid $5 an hour. Check and see what the going rate is in your area.

Use posters and flayers (always ask first) in local food stores, churches, the library, local apartments and up and down the neighbor hoods you would like to work in or have clients from. There are also "home providers" thu the local child welfare services who will inspect your home, approve it and help you get clients. Word of mouth is very good. Once you build up a good reputation folks will recommend you their selves.

Make a flier and post it on a grocery store bulletin board, at a church or a local daycare. Put you phone number and name vertically about 10 times at the bottom of the flyer and cut the paper (like fringe or little tiny coupons) on the bottom.

You can advertise on the interenet/ websites/Newspapers/Billboards/Friends/Family. It depends on the family you are babysitting for. Let them make you an offer, if you dont like it tell them you would like more money for your services. Hope I helped!

You could make flyers and hand them out to business or around your neighboorhood. I think it's $2 per child.
