Reading some of these answers breaks my heart. To believe in God you must have faith. To have faith, you must believe in things you cannot see. That's the whole point. There were many people who saw the miracles God performed through Moses and the ones Jesus did and still did not believe. If you feel you have to see it to believe, you truly don't understand the whole concept. God will prove himself to be true one day, I just hope that you all will be touched to find him first so you don't have to pay the ultimate price. He's here and He's waiting for you. All you have to do is search him out and you will find him. Matthew 7:7,8
There is a book written by Lee Strobel who use to be an atheist. The Case for Christ. His goal was to put all of his questions to the test and ask experts to see if they could SHOW him. By doing the research, he became a strong believer. I hope that maybe this book will be exactly what someone is looking for.

Of course I have no choice but to believe whatever directly effects my physical experience, has physical existence. Unless there was some way I coudl determine I was hallucinating. What confuses me is how I would know it was God. Especially how would i know it was the judeo-christian God. If I assumed these things, then in fact i probably WAS hallucinating.
But to answer the essence of your question. I resist no beleif. Im willing to accept absolutely anything. I'm pretty sure that everything i believe is false, or at least not the whole story. I hope always to learn and realize more. Shouldn't everyone?

I like cheesecake too, but I wuv pumpkin pie a lot. To be serious, no, I wouldn't believe. That's kinda not the point in believing anyway -- have faith in something you can't necessarily see. Evidence is just not one of the reasons why I'm an Atheist.

Depends.
What kind of god are you proposing that I see? What does he look like? If a god appeared in human form, I suppose he would look just like another human. If a god really wanted me to know that he was a god, I suppose he would be smart enough to figure out a more "godly" appearance, whatever that might mean.
In any case, I'm sure that a god could convince me that he exists if he wanted to. Since he hasn't, then I have to conclude that he doesn't want me to know he exists, or isn't smart enough to figure out how to convince me, or can't manage to appear in a form that would convince me, or just plain ole doesn't exist.
Since all evidence seems to point to all gods being man-made superstitions, I would tend to lean to the "plain ole doesn't exist" conclusion.

Actually, Atheist's when they do Finally see God, I actually believe that their are some who when they do will shake their fist at God saying "How dare you proove you exist! How dare you!"
Joseph Stalin was one who hated God and the idea of God so much that just before he died he shook his fist up at God as he breathed his last breath.
Mat 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I have my eyes out for the tooth fairy, but I have not seen her yet. And if I do finally meet her and find that she is a he, I would cry as much as christians would. Cheesecake would stop my crying, though.

it depends on how we see him. If he is 200 feet in the air pointing a finger, he better perform some miracle. It will never happen though as he doesn't exist. A big fake made up by gurus intent on getting your cash!
